CQC was the general contractor for the renovation of the existing 100 year old Brown Gym into a two-story innovation lab at Hawken School in Gates Mills, Ohio. The project was extremely challenging due to site access and the construction of another floor within the gym. In order to erect the steel, we had to fit the crane through a 6’ opening without overloading the current floor. We utilized a spider crane and reinvented the interior use of the space. The completed space includes the latest in robotic technology, 3D printer, laser cutters, and CNC milling machines allowing the students to get a hands-on learning experience.
